Central subsidy for 3 kW and above under PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. Systems of 1–2 kW receive a lower, pro-rated amount.

Housing Society / RWA

For common-meter (society / RWA) installations — for common facilities such as lifts, pumps and lighting, up to 500 kW (3 kW per house).

Subsidy amounts are as per the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana at the time of publishing and are credited directly to the beneficiary account. Eligibility and amounts are decided by MNRE / DISCOM.

Process

Five steps. We do four of them.

  1. Register on the portalWe register you on the National Portal for Rooftop Solar with your electricity consumer number.
  2. DISCOM feasibility approvalYour DISCOM (DGVCL, MGVCL, PGVCL, UGVCL or Torrent) approves the proposed capacity.
  3. Installation by GrandoPlant installed with the storm-safe structure and Tier-1 components; installation report uploaded.
  4. Inspection & net meterDISCOM inspects and installs the bi-directional meter. Commissioning certificate is generated.
  5. Subsidy creditedBank details submitted; subsidy is credited directly to your account by the central government.

Residential consumers with a valid electricity connection and a roof suitable for solar. Housing societies and RWAs are eligible for common-facility installations.
₹78,000 for residential systems of 3 kW and above. For 1 kW and 2 kW systems, the subsidy is lower and pro-rated. Group housing societies get ₹18,000 per kW for common facilities (up to 500 kW at 3 kW per house).
After installation, inspection and net-meter commissioning, the subsidy is credited directly to the beneficiary’s bank account by the central government.

Yes. Many customers finance the balance amount through a loan and pay an EMI that is lower than their previous electricity bill.
